I have a special interest in helping individuals heal from trauma, including complex trauma, PTSD, and childhood trauma.
My goal is to create a safe and compassionate space where you can explore your experiences, understand the impact of trauma on your life, and work toward healing.

Understanding Trauma and Its Impact

Trauma is not just an event in the past, it can shape the way you think, feel, and experience the world in the present.
Many people who have experienced trauma struggle with lasting emotional, mental, and physical effects.

These may include:

  • Flashbacks and Intrusive Memories: Re-experiencing the trauma, often triggered by reminders in your environment.

  • Hypervigilance and Anxiety: Feeling constantly on edge, as if danger is always near.

  • Difficulty in Relationships: Trust issues, isolation, or feeling disconnected from others.

  • Self-Doubt and Shame: A sense of worthlessness or guilt that can follow traumatic events.

  • Emotional Numbness: Feeling detached, disconnected, or "frozen" in response to emotions.

  • Difficulty with Concentration: Struggling to focus or feeling easily overwhelmed.

These symptoms are not signs of weakness. They are your brain and body’s response to overwhelming experiences.
Other possible struggles you might experience are feelings of anxiety, phobias, depression, substance abuse, binge eating, negative self talk, sleep disturbance, low self esteem, people pleasing and conflict avoiding behaviour, social anxiety, avoiding people or places, physical symptoms like headaches, stomachaches, …

If any of these resonate with you, know that you're not alone—and that healing is possible. Together, we can work to understand and address these challenges, helping you regain control and find peace in your life.

EMDR Trauma Focused Therapy:

An effective approach I use to help people process trauma is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). EMDR is an evidence-based therapy designed to help people process and heal from the emotional distress caused by traumatic memories. It helps to "rewire" the brain's response to traumatic memories, reducing their emotional charge and allowing you to experience life with greater peace and clarity.

Through EMDR, we work together to:

  • Process distressing memories in a safe, controlled way.

  • Reduce the emotional intensity associated with past events.

  • Build coping strategies to manage triggers and difficult emotions.

  • Strengthen your sense of self-worth and personal empowerment.

There is an option for a more extended session format that can go from 1,5 -2.hours EMDR sessions.
During a more extended session, we typically spend 1,5-2 hours together in a highly focused, uninterrupted environment. This longer duration allows you to process memories in-depth, receive ample support, and integrate healing strategies effectively.
